2016 Convention Recap

At the Woodbury County Democratic convention held March 12 at West High School, Democrats filled the building with tremendous enthusiasm for their candidates and an intense desire to win in November.

Here are the final delegate totals for Woodbury County:

Bernie Sanders: 19 Delegates
Hillary Clinton: 17 Delegates

The delegates were elected by the local Democrats who were chosen at their Iowa Caucuses in February. (At the county convention, the delegates were selected by 124 Sanders and 110 Clinton local supporters.)

Those delegates were elected to go on to the 4th District Democratic Convention to be held in April in Ames, and to the Iowa Democratic Convention to be held in June in Des Moines.

If you were elected to serve on one of the committees that is setting up the DISTRICT convention, there will be a meeting in Fort Dodge on March 19, 11 AM. Meetings will be held at the Elderbridge Center, 308 Central Avenue, Ft. Dodge.  It is recommended that you bring a sack lunch!

Democrats met all across Iowa, and the final delegate totals for Iowa are: Clinton 704, Sanders 700, O’Malley 1.

Platform

Here is the final platform that was adopted by the convention

Tremendous thanks to the volunteers who helped put on the convention: Arrangements, Credentials, Executive and Platform committees all put in many hours of hard work to make it possible.
